We oversee all postgraduate student admissions, academic progress, and examinations for all postgraduate students, ensuring that programs across the university meet the highest standards.

We develop strong policies, promote the publication of novel and impactful research, and protect innovations through patents and intellectual property rights. Our goal is to establish a supportive and vibrant environment where postgraduate students can excel and make long-lasting impacts in society.

Who We Are

The Directorate of Postgraduate Studies is a Centre of Excellence dedicated to advancing postgraduate education, research, innovation, and scholarly publication. In collaboration with the university, partners, and stakeholders, we mobilise resources to support postgraduate students, generate high-impact knowledge, and disseminate research that contributes to national and global development.

Mandate of the Institute

1. Oversees the postgraduate students' admission, academic progress, and examination.
2. Coordinates postgraduate programmes across the university.
3. Recommends to the university senate the award of postgraduate certificates, diplomas, and degrees.
4. Formulates and reviews postgraduate guidelines.
5. Ensures compliance with postgraduate guidelines governing the postgraduate studies.
6. Promotes and advocates for the publication and dissemination of research findings.
7. Secures patents and intellectual property rights in collaboration with the Director Research and Innovations.
8. Supports the welfare and success of postgraduate students and promotes a conducive learning environment.
